The firm of Weimat was set up back in 1984 when Karl-Heinz Weiss and Hans Mattar started making mechanical components using traditional milling machines and lathes in a garage. In 1987 they built a small factory and took on their first apprentices. The following year they purchased their first CNC milling machine and took on their first employee. From that moment on the company continued to grow and by 1993 it had already received its first ISO 9002 certification.

As a result of further expansion, in the following years new production sites were built and there was heavy investment in the latest technology. When Alexander Weiss took over management of the company from his father in 2004, the manufacturing company of Pesch based in the Pays de Herve was incorporated into the Group and this also permitted long production runs.

Today the Weimat Group is one of the leading suppliers in the areas of CNC, 3D and 5-axis milling, aluminium mould making, MuCell® injection moulding and deep drilling with numerous clients in the automobile industry, aerospace and the machine and tool manufacturing sectors.
